Bike Tour from Moret-sur-Loing to Bourron-Marlotte
We start in the walled medieval village of Moret-sur-Loing. Moret is a charming medieval village idyllically situated on the banks of the Loing River. Some medieval ramparts, gates and buildings still remain and it maze of tiny cobbled lanes will delight you as we bike through them. Moret was also the residence of the painter Alfred Sisley and the residence of a 17th century nun known as The Black Nun of Moret, whose mysterious connection to Louis XIV is a source of intrigue among historians.
After Moret we'll bike along a canal before heading off into the countryside.
Next we'll visit several villages which were havens for 19th and early 20th century artists who sought out their country charm and their pretty countryside environs to depict in their works.
Here and there we'll ride down little lanes between lovely old houses and gardens.
Plenty of charming streets and beautiful stone built houses.
