3-Hour Paris's Nearby Countryside Tour €150

This tour is catered to those on a budget who wish to cycle through the countryside outside of Paris but for whom the cost of one of my full day countryside tours might be prohibitive. Unlike my full day countryside tours, roughly half of the tour will consist of cycling through pleasant suburban towns just outside of Paris and the other half of the tour will be in the "true countryside" (rural small towns/villages in the agricultural Brie region near to Paris). The tour starts with a ride through some pleasant suburban areas before we arrive in the more rural countryside and small towns/villages. After our cycle through the rural areas we will loop back to the suburban areas and finish the tour with a pleasant ride on a dedicated cycling path bordering the Marne River. • Meeting Time: The Meeting Time for this tour is flexible and can be discussed



• Starting the Day: The meeting point for this tour is at the RER A station Le Parc de Saint-Maur in the town of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, on RER line A. Clients will be given directions from their accommodation in Paris to this station. We begin cycling once you have arrived in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (meaning, we do not need to bring bikes on trains for this tour). I will meet you with the bikes at the RER station.

 

• Touring Time: 3 hours from the time we begin cycling upon your arrival in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. This tour must be completed within 3 hours once we begin cycling from your arrival point at the RER A station Le Parc de Saint-Maur. There is a supplemental fee of €50 per hour (payable in increments of 15 minutes, meaning €12.50 per additional 15 minutes) if you can not complete the 40km cycling distance within 3 hours. However, if you wish to customize this tour to add additional touring time (for the supplemental touring time fee noted) to allow you to enjoy this tour at a more leisurely pace (perhaps you'd like to stop at a café or pastry shop for a snack or a drink) then that is an option. But, it is still required that you are experienced cyclists to do this tour. 

 

• Touring Distance: 40km / 25 miles from your RER A train arrival in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés until we have cycled all the way back to Saint-Maur-des-Fossés.

 

• Level of Difficulty: Moderate. While much of the terrain on this tour is flat to gently rolling there are some steepish hills/inclines (notably the first hill we encounter, which is just under 1km in length) that will require some effort. Thus, this is not a suitable tour for inexperienced/novice cyclists.
