Choose Your Ride by Level of Difficulty
Below you will find a list of tours sorted by level of difficulty in order from easiest to most difficult. The tours are rated in 4 levels of difficulty being easy, easy to moderate, moderate and moderate to difficult. The level of difficulty is based on how hilly a ride might be and the gradient of the hills. The level of difficulty is not based on the distance of a ride. Below are explanations of the rating system.
Easy: These rides are generally on flat to mildly rolling terrain with no hills. These are good rides for families, novices and those who want a leisurely ride with little physical effort required.
Easy to Moderate: These rides are generally on flat to rolling terrain and include some inclines but have no substantial hills. Anyone who is fit and active can enjoy these rides.
Moderate: These rides have mixed topography but tend to have hilly sections with ascent times generally ranging from 4 to 8 minutes. These rides are for those who enjoy excercise and a bit of a workout. However, they are not strenuous rides if you are physically fit.
Moderate to Difficult: These rides have mixed topography but have steeper and lengthier hills than the moderately rated rides. Ascent times on some of these hills can be 8 to 15 minutes. However, there are no Tour de France type ascents so there are no Alpine style climbs on these rides. These rides are for active people.
